I’m closing comments on this page…please try one of these pages:

    Help
    Feature Requests

I sincerely thank you all for your comments…I’m just having trouble keeping track of all the different pages.

This is exactly what i’m looking for. a few questions though.

is there any way to make a direct link to show all of the albums created? one that shows a list of all the albums that have uploaded photo’s in them

also, this would be the perfect plugin if it had a widget that picked random pictures to display in the sidebars.

any ideas or fixes for either of these things?

    thanks in advance
    ben

      Ben,
Widgets are on the roadmap…and you’ve brought up another good idea…an albums (or in this case galleries) page. I’ll put both on the Feature Request page…but sorry, they aren’t here yet. If you’re comfortable with PHP, you could probably get them done before I’ll be able to get to them, but I’ll definitely be doing both.

      Cheers,
      Byron

  • Amir says:

    Hi,
I installed the PhotoSmash plug-in to my tests webSite. (I can’t send you a link since it on my localhost)

This is a very nice plug-in that I would like to use in the near future.

I still have some issues with the plug-in and the major one is:
How possible to add link to the Author page like you have in this gallery?

you have links from some pictures to: http://smashly.net/blog/author/byron/

I’m using the default image caption style: “Caption [by] Contributor (link to user submitted url)”
On my webSite I can see the caption link NAME correctly but the link is exactly the same if I click the image.

Please advice how can I solve the issue,
    Thanks,
    Amir

      Hi Amir,

Here is a How-To article that describes the whole process in detail. It also has a picture of which 2 Caption Styles will get you the link you’re looking for.

Let me know if that doesn’t cover this issue for you.
      Cheers,
      Byron

        Hi,
        Thanks for quick response.

I read the link below and now I can see the authors images.

        Now I found another issue:
After click on gallery at “By admin” link
I forward to the admin’s gallery. by this link: http://127.0.0.1/wordpress/?author=1
click on the link of the header: “Images by admin”
do not forward to the same link.
        It forward to:
        http://127.0.0.1/wordpress/?p=-1

This is not the same behavior at your demo site.

I tried to change at the Dashboard -> Settings -> Permalinks: from “Default” to “Day and name” and this return with “error 404 – not found”

I read the post about the 404 error but no one of the solutions is relevant to this case.

    Hi Matt,

    That is generally a Theme issue. I’ll put up an FAQ and direct you to it. My guess is that in your theme’s footer.php file, it does not call wp_footer();

That template tag is required to cause WordPress to load several javascript files, including ThickBox, which is not being loaded, and which is why you get sent to another page when clicking the button.

If that is there, then it’s probably a javascript or PHP error that is aborting the script before everything gets called. That could be either client side or server side.

I’ve seen this 5 or 6 times and it’s always been either a theme issue or something other than PhotoSmash blowing up the script.

    Hope that helps.

Hello, I’m not to sure if this is the right place to ask but I’ve looked everywhere and still can’t find any answers.
I am having problems with my photosmash installation. The ‘add photo’ button doesn’t seem to do anything and just takes me to a blank page. You can see it at http://www.test.fourmonkeys.co.uk/gallery/.

If you could help that would be perfect as the plugin is exactly what I am looking for.

    Thanks, Matt
