Ok, ok, so I’m a slow learner. I now see that there is a time for comments and there is a time for Forums. It’s really hard to manage Help through comments, even threaded comments like those below here. The Forum paradigm works much better. I need to work out some kinks, but it should be workable now.
Sorry to do this to you mid-stream, but I’m shutting down comments and moving help to the forum. Sooooo……

Hi,
Love the plugin, but having a bit of weird problem–all uploaded pics are being duplicated in the gallery. Thus, if there are 2 real pics, when you open the shadowbox viewer (we’re using shadowbox instead of lightbox), it will say image 1 of 4, instead of 2, and each photo is displayed twice.
I found someone having a similar problem and they posted a fix here: http://www.shadowbox-js.com/forum.html#nabble-td3536926 , but I’m not sure how to implement their fix (i.e., where to put the code). Any suggestions will be much appreciated!
Thanks so much,
Paul

Paul,
What are you using for the rel for that gallery? The default is lightbox[album], which should work with shadowbox.
I do have a situation in the code that could produce duplicates, particularly if the [album] portion were removed. It would be when there are captions that also link to the image (but not in all cases). The captions sometimes use a separate link to the image, which I try to put into another Shadowbox stream by changing the [album] code, but that’s not bulletproof, unfortunately.
Let me know if that helps at all…if not, I’d be glad to take a look if you can share a link.

I am using the lightbox[album] rel, and I did have the captions setup as links to the image. I changed this to link to a url, and now it’s reporting the correct number of images.
Thanks for the help,
Paul

As many others I can’t get this to work on our blog. We use nextgen for our galleries and decided to use photosmash solely for user generated galleries.
I have installed twice and checked for the js files sometimes went missing.
The upload dialog box shows up it seems like it works but nothing is uploaded.
Please help!

Rodolfo,
Sorry you have the impression that “many others” can’t get this to work, but I don’t think I’d classify a couple handfuls as “many” given over 16,000 downloads (probably only about 1000 actual users)…Perhaps I should remove this help page if that’s the impression it’s giving off
Hopefully we’ll be able to get you running. I should be able to look at this tonight.
Cheers,
Byron

No problem…it’s always frustrating when it’s not working like it should.
I’m working on it now, and it’s being stubborn.
I’ll contact you by email.

PROBLEM IDENTIFIED: while this problem wasn’t resolved exactly, at least we have a bead on where the problem was occurring. Rodolfo was using cForms version 11.x, turning this off allowed uploads to occur properly. Something in there is causing the Ajax form from submitting properly.
I don’t know whether the ugliness is on the PhotoSmash side or the cForms 11.x side, but signs point to a conflict.

I used Photosmash for several months with no problems. All of a sudden, it stopped working and displays this:
missing field: wp_attach_id in table: wp_bwbps_images.
I have updated, uninstalled, reinstalled, deleted via FTP, reinstalled via FTP and Wordpress and this still happens.
I am running the latest version of WordPress and I have very limited knowledge of coding, so I’m not quite sure what to do!

Byron,
PS 0.4.01 still working great with my WP 2.8.4 installation.
One customization question. I’d like to have each gallery display it’s name. How do I do that?
Thanks,
Jim
Sunday, 20 September, 2009 at 22:36
Hi Jim,
Glad to hear it’s going well!
Sorryabout the name…that’s kind of a bad trick right now…it won’t display the gallery name right now. I’ll put it on the list.
BB
Monday, 21 September, 2009 at 10:13
Byron,
Ok, understand how that goes. Only so many things you can do at once. I’ll watch for that feature on a subsequent upgrade. In the meantime I’ll try a work-around putting the gallery name into the page html.
Sure appreciate the effort you put into the initial design and now your great support. Way to go.

Hey, simple question. How can I reorder my pictures. I suppose I need to change the image id. Is there any easy way to do that?
Monday, 21 September, 2009 at 0:30
Hi Chris,
Right now, there are 2 choices…ascending by time uploaded and descending by time uploaded.
If you need something other than that right now, you’d need to go into the database and change the created_date values to be in the order you want.
Eventually, there will be drag-and-drop reordering…eventually

Hi there
Loving this plugin! This is probably a dumb question:
How can I get the shortcode to pull images from random posts – rather than specifying a specific post id. Is this possible?
e.g. I am using the shortcode on a static page and I want to show images from all posts.
Thanks!

Hi, byron, I am desolated.
Everything worked perfect on the test blog. Now installed in the final blog , all same version , and does not work.
Now submit click, the bar acts as if it is going up and then nothing, no load the table or copy pictures into folders ….
Please, help…

Paco,
Don’t sweat it…we’ll get you going!
Somebody else had this behavior recently, and it turned out that the zip file they used for the FTP didn’t have all the proper files in it. Somehow that didn’t work quite right through the WordPress download.
Try this: go into Admin…Plugins…Add New…Search for PhotoSmash in the seearch box…and install from there. Hopefully that will work…give me an email at byron at whypad . com if it doesn’t work.

Byron,
Is there a way I can add a onclick which will take the viewer to the next picture in the gallery? I see it on your demo with the arrows at the bottom, which I can’t get those on my gallery either, but I would rather have a click the picture to take you to the next. Thanks for the GREAT plugin.

Monday, 14 September, 2009 at 9:31
Hi Craig,
You would need a slideshow plugin to get the behavior you’re describing. I haven’t integrated with any at this time, but some people have successfully integrated with Piclens (it’s probably a little tricky right now).
If you want the behavior on the demo page, you can use either the Shadowbox plugin or the Lightbox plugin. Install them and activate them, and it should just work.
Cheers,
Byron
Monday, 14 September, 2009 at 11:19
Do you have any demos or people that have demos of the integration between the two?
I have the shadowbox plugin installed and working fine… I just don’t get the “Next Picture” or “last picture” arrow at the bottom right next to the “X”.
Monday, 14 September, 2009 at 12:15
One thing that can cause the arrows not to display on Shadowbox is if the image is too small.
Here’s the site where they’re using CoolIris with photosmash:
http://www.bath.ac.uk/inpictures/
Not sure how they’re doing it, but it’s cool!!
Monday, 14 September, 2009 at 13:17
It seems that the Cooliris is a separate program…what is interesting is the Next Previous tags on the right and left side of each picture in the Galleries that use photosmash. What I found is that they are using jquery lightbox to manage that. It seems like an easy switch to use lightbox and not shadowbox. I’ll try to implement this later tonight to verify. I’m crossing my fingers. Thanks for all your help.
Sunday, 13 September, 2009 at 22:31
I want to create a site where users submit up to 3 “before” photos and up to 3 “after” photos with all of these displaying on one page but separated or designated as before or after. And the voting needs to be per page, not per photo. Can your plugin assist with this?
Thanks.
Monday, 14 September, 2009 at 9:26
Hi Carol,
I helped with a site that does something similar…they only did a before and an after. I wrote the customization for it. You can take a look at BeforeAfters
So, yes, PhotoSmash can be used for doing something like that, but it will require some custom coding to get exactly what you’re looking for.
I do take on projects like this as time permits, so if you’d like to discuss further, email me at byron at whypad . com.

Hi Bryon.
I have uploaded photosmash 4.01 to my site and when I try to upload a photo, nothing happens.
There doesn’t seem to be any issues in the backend (safemode is set to off).
I’m probably overlooking something super simple but can’t find it.

Hi,
I’m amazed and thankful you’re still rapidly updating and supporting your plugin. It’s great to see someone interacting on such a level with their users.
But I do have a question. For me, simply ticking the option of “Use built-in WordPress upload functions.” prevents uploads from occurring. I also do not see any adjusted behavior in the upload form.
If I uncheck that option, uploads work fine — they go into the /uploads/bwbps/ folder. When it’s turned on, though, Photosmash thinks an upload completed but then there’s simply a blank record in place of an image.
Similarly, I do not observe any difference in behavior… shouldn’t I be able to upload “multiple images” as per the feature specification? Where is that supposed to occur at?
Very interested in your improvements, but very confused on precisely where they are or how to use them. Thanks for any assistance rendered.
Friday, 11 September, 2009 at 22:46
Hi William,
You’re welcome!
Ok…
1) Normally, I’d think it would work better with the built-in WP functions checked since that uses all the WP folders and actually calls the WP functions when doing the upload. Not sure why it’s not uploading.
2) You won’t see any difference from the front-end between the 2 modes. It’s all on the back end. The upload form is still the same. But what happens when using the WP functions is that it uses wp_handle_upload and other WP functions to effect the upload. It can also add the images to your media library so you can use them from within posts just as if you’d uploaded them through the Write Post page or the Media Library page.
3) The uploading of multiple images would be conducted through either the Write Post page or the “Add” page of the Media Library. You can select mulitple files and upload them all together, but then you have to go to the Import Images page in PhotoSmash admin and import the images from the media library into a PhotoSmash gallery…that’s pretty easy, even if it is an extra step.
I don’t know why it’s not uploading for you one way and not the other
.

I have PhotoSmash 4.0 working at http://www.ifaux.com/2009/07/artisan-ivenetian-com-scottsdale-az-usa/ and all seems to be working fine. WordPress 2.8.1 using Studiopress Church 4.0 Theme
I have PhotoSmash 4.01 installed at http://www.NoUglyDoors.com, however I am not able to upload any photos into the gallery that I have set up at http://www.nouglydoors.com/2009/07/photo-gallery/ WordPress 2.8.4 using Studiopress Church 4.0 Theme
I have set the upload to “anyone” so that you can test what is happening.

Mike,
Wow. That’s a stumper. Can you try the default WP theme on that site and see if it resolves with the theme change. It looks like iFaux and NUD are using pretty much the same theme, but just checking.
Using Firebug while uploading, I noticed that it was not liking the fact that the form didn’t have enctype=”multipart/form-data” in it. I’ve updated the file that creates the upload form and will email it to you so you can swap that out in the plugin folder, but I’m not sure if that’s the problem either.
The weird thing is that it appears to be trying the Ajax upload, then switches over to a regular form submit.
Let me know how it goes.
Byron
Thursday, 10 September, 2009 at 23:13
RESOLVED!
Whew! For reference for other people with similar problem…the issue was that the theme was pulling in jQuery by linking directly to it instead of using the WordPress wp_enqueue_script function, which will prevent multiple loads of a javascript file.
To fix, we had to remove the following line from the header.php file in the theme:
<script type=”text/javascript” src=”<?php echo bloginfo(‘home’) ?>/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js”></script>
It was on line 51, but that might move around depending on which version of the theme you’re using.
So, if you are trying to upload an image and it looks like it is starting to upload, but then reloads the page, check your theme for a link to jquery.js
Hope that helps someone else!
Cheers,
Byron

Hi korleone,
I assume you’re on PhotoSmash 0.4.01…if not, that could be the issue.
If you are, what versions of WordPress and MySQL are you running. If you could copy the Plugin info page and email it to me at byron at whypad . com, that might bring something to light.
Thanks,

Tom,
Uggg…I was really hoping that by using the built-in WordPress functionality, that these issues would be licked. Can you upload images through the Write Post page in WordPress?
BB
Thursday, 10 September, 2009 at 11:30
This is will only happen only if I uncheck and check the Settings>Miscellaneous Settings > “Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders” check box.
Tom

Thursday, 10 September, 2009 at 18:39
Tom,
That makes me feel better (I think)…if you make your settings so that you can upload files through the WP Write Post, then it should work with PhotoSmash if you have the settings for using the WP upload functions set on the Uploading tab of PhotoSmash Settings page.
Let me know if that doesn’t do it.

First things first: Congratulations!
You made a great plug-in! I´m a designer and let me tell you, writing advanced code it´s so hard, and you did a very good job. Thanks again.
I´m exploring this jQuerry plug ins to enhanced my Wordpress sites, and I fopund yours. I love the example I saw, that´s what I need. So, I download install and tested locally.
I want to share my experience in the search of some light.
I tested my blog with:
Vista Home Premium
Wampserver 2.0
Mozilla Firefox 3.0.13
Wordpress 2.8.3
The result in the blog page is:
Fatal error: Cannot use object of type WPlize as array in C:\wamp\www\wordpress\wp-content\plugins\jquery-comment-preview\jquery-comment-preview.php on line 188
Do you know how can I debug this?
I´ll appreciate it because, as a designer it´s kind of messy.
Thanks again and my best regards to the community.
Wednesday, 9 September, 2009 at 21:04
Hi Ray,
Thanks! This has definitely not been easy
It sounds like the problem you’re having is related to the plugin jQuery Comment Preview (or something similar). It doesn’t appear to be coming from PhotoSmash. So, try disabling that and see if it works…then you can turn it back on and disable PhotoSmash and see if it works, to figure out if PhotoSmash is conflicting with Comment Preview.

missing < ?php wp_head(); ?> in header.php

Thanks for a great plugin:
#1: Do you know which of the upload fields correspond or match with the wordpress media library fields? When using a custom form, with custom fields, all photos show up in wordpress with “no title, no description, no caption, etc”
#2: Is there a way to customize the linked photo page? (the one the thumbnail directs to) Would be nice to put nav buttons or a close button (if using new window) for the noobs.
Once again, great plugin.
Wednesday, 9 September, 2009 at 21:55
Thanks Matthew!
#1 I think [caption] doubles up for image caption and description in media library. Nothing else is mapped at this point because I had to use the standard PSmash fields.
#2 There’s not a real good way at this point, but when I FINALLY get my new PhotoSmash Extend plugin together it will allow you to create a new post for each uploaded image. This would allow you to do all sorts of customizations to the new post. In the meantime, the easiest thing to do might be to use LightBox or Shadowbox plugin to just have a pop-up view on the same page.
Cheers,

Well, I use parent pages with sub pages at header, also I was trying to create an image gallery page, thing what I did successfully but with this plugin but…later on I realized that all my sub pages from their respectived parent pages…are simply gone from header! o_O
I deactivated the plugin and my sub pages are back!

Wednesday, 9 September, 2009 at 21:29
Hi Karl,
It’s probably got something to do with the CSS. If you can give me a link, I might be able to help out with a CSS rule that gets you fixed up.
If you want to try it yourself, I’d suggest using the “Inspect” feature of the Firebug plugin for Firefox. This will let you see what CSS rules are affecting the elements you hover your cursor over.

Hi Karl,
I worked on it for a while, and found that if I removed the: clear: both from this div:
right below the Toggle Rating span, it looks right. I’m not sure what’s going on, but the table apparently need the float to stay in the right place.
If you play around with it and get something that works, let me know and I’ll add to the main code so you don’t lose your mod on upgrade.

Friday, 4 September, 2009 at 17:14
Hi Byron,
I’m considering proposing your gallery, but I have a few questions. 1) Is there a way to add a caption below the images to describe them? 2) Is there a way to click on a link on a page and it take you to a specific image in a gallery (popup page)? I ask this because you put “Caption and linking options” as a gallery-level setting.
Thanks, Angie
Friday, 4 September, 2009 at 19:12
Hi Angie,
1) Yes, you can add captions. The standard gallery layout has a caption. If you do a custom layout, you can go crazy with custom fields and any layout you can dream up.
2) I haven’t tried this, so I don’t know how hard it would be to get it going. You can do show a single image on a page or post by using a shortcode like [psmash id=743 layout=std]. Then this can have a link that pops up the image.
But I’m not sure it’s exactly what you’re looking for.
Let me know if you need any further clarifications.

Hi Andre,
Check your Gallery Settings page in Admin…select the gallery you want to do ratings on and make sure you have one selected in the Rating Type option at the bottom of the first tab.
If you want all new galleries to have ratings, you can set the default in the PhotoSmash Settings page…same place. The little disk icon there will save that setting to all existing galleries, just don’t forget to save the your default settings too.
Hopefully that’s it.

Hi Byron,
I installed PhotoSmash on my WP 2.8.4 blog. It setup with no problems. When I paste the [photosmash] line into a page, a nice box appears with an “Add Photo” link. Using that link I can easily browse to a photo I want to upload. Unfortunately, it won’t upload any photos regardless of size. The error message says that the photo is too large, or there’s some other problem.
What can I do to fix this?
Thanks,
Jim

Byron…
I am having the exact same problem – so it is not an isolated incident.
What’s the fix?

Are you using version 0.4.00? If so, make sure that the first 2 items in the Budgeting tab on the PhotoSmash Settings admin page are checked.
BB
Tuesday, 1 September, 2009 at 10:40
Byron,
That did the trick. I was using 0.3.7 which did not have those options, so updated to 0.4.00. Works as advertised now.
One comment: The tab is entitled “Uploading” not “Budgeting” I never make those kinds of typos …
Thanks for a great plugin and for your quick help.

Byron…..unfortunately, I cannot report the same success.
I am using newest version…and those two checkboxes on uploading tab are checked…still will not upload anything.
I even changed permissions to 0777
What’s more……
I downloaded the NexGen plugin, installed and activated it…..and that plugin DOES upload the images without problem…leading me to believe that the problem is not with any of the Wordpress settings, not with php.ini file settings or webhost restrictions.
I will use the NexGen plugin until this can be resolved……but would rather use Photosmash if possible for some of the features it has that other does not.
Regards,
Mark

Mark,
Sorry that didn’t work. I would have expected that if you were having a folder problem that this would have done the trick since it is using the actual WordPress upload functionality. It uses WordPress functions for moving the files around, resizing and saving them, so it is a bit surprising that this doesn’t work.
You probably did this right, but just to make sure, did you go to Gallery Settings, find your gallery in the drop down and edit it, then mark those 2 options? It wouldn’t be the first time that this tripped someone up.
Let me know if you want to try again and we can take a deeper dive.
If not, best of luck with NextGen…it’s obviously a very good gallery.
Cheers,
Byron

Hi Byron.
I have just added photosmash to a clients website, all seems to be working well apart from the lightbox feature.
I have checked the rel parameter in both the overall settings and the gallery specific settings and both are set as: lightbox[album]
Upon clicking an image in the gallery the image is simply opened in a new window and not via lightbox.
I also have the Lightbox 2 plugin running on the same site but this seems to make no difference.
Any help would be appreciated!
The album can be viewed at: http://ravejavu.com/gallery2/
Thanks for your time,
Richard

Richard,
There are 2 versions of Lightbox 2 plugin…make sure you’re using this one:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/lightbox-2/
You might also try Shadowbox, which works quite well:

I have managed to get lightbox and shodowbox working now. I was editing some text on the page the gallery was linked to and it worked after I saved!

In the demo on your website, when an image is clicked the image pops up in a loader. How is it possible to make this happen as well on my site?
Monday, 31 August, 2009 at 9:13
Kilkster,
I use the Shadowbox plugin:

Another to try is Lightbox2:

Hi,
Thanks for this exelent plagin.
But I have one problem.
I’m using custom fiedls, custom form and custom layout. I put custom fields into custom form.
It is working. But in custom layoutit it shows just custom field name. For ex. i have custom field ‘nominac’. I put [nominac] into custom layout.
On the front end I’m getting just’[nominac]‘, no value. Please advise how to solve this problem.
Thanks in advance

Hi Byron,
I really really need help…
I need the filenames to stay the same !
You see I was planning on using your plugin for one of my sites, so I started assembling a HUGE archive of pictures and renaming them 1 by 1 for seo purposes (its better to have filenames with keywords in it than a bunch of numbers ). Well after about 5 hours, i had renamed well over 600 pictures, i was ready to upload the first few ones on my site… I started uploading and at some point i realized the filenames were being overwritten by numbers !!!
Please, i really spent hours doing this, its all wasted if there is no way to prevent the file renaming, i tried looking in the code but could not figure it out…
Help !

Louno,
I will take a look and see what I can do. It’s current set up for renaming.

If I choose Default rating position: beneath caption
and then upload photo without caption – the star raing system will not be displayed.
Why?
Thanks!

Malcev,
Can you point me to a page? Make sure that the gallery on that page has the Rating type set…also, make sure that that gallery has the position set as well. Setting the defaults in PhotoSmash Settings doesn’t affect the galleries unless you click the multi-save disk icons.

Hi there Mr.B,
everything seems working except that lightbox and ‘anybody’ options.
1- when click on a picture, it takes direct to the picture file. I checked the lightbox[album] and it looks fine.
2- i set upload power to ‘anybody; but once admin logs out, ‘add photo’ disappears.

That SQL Mode setting in the Plugin Info you posted looks like it might be causing some hiccups in the code. I’m going to remove that code, which was cleaning up some duplicated indices on a couple of tables and see if that works for you.

Thursday, 20 August, 2009 at 0:35
K,
I’m going to need to make a special Init file for you for one time use, I think. The problem is that there are some indices that have to be dropped. Apparently, yours have already been dropped, and with that SQL Mode STRICT_TRANS_TABLES on, I think that it’s bombing out and not regenerating your tables because it’s not finding those indices.
Since you’re running PHP 5, I can put some Try Catch phrases around those calls and it should generate your tables. After they’re generated properly, you can use the regular Init file since the indices will be there the next time you need to update the DB.
I don’t think you can use Try Catch with PHP 4, so I can’t put that in the general release code. And I also can’t figure out how to tell if an index exists before trying to drop it. So, we’re kind of stuck.
Send me an email at byron at whypad . com and I’ll email you the file tomorrow night US time, if you would like.
If you’re comfortable with PHP, you could try update the bwbps-init.php file in the Photosmash Admin folder, putting try catch phrases around any code that Drops an index…look for the Alter SQL command.
Let me know…and sorry for the inconvenience.

RESOLVED: the problem was with the SQL Mode settings. K removed the SQL Modes from the .ini file and everything works appropriately.
This is the only time I have seen a SQL Mode other than none. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t good reasons for having one set, but you might be able to temporarily (or even permanently) disable them until you upgrade your tables if they’re causing a problem.

Is there anyway to use php to call the same thing as using [photosmash] shortcode?
Wednesday, 19 August, 2009 at 12:32
Rohan,
There aren’t any template tags yet…but they will come at some point. If you want to try, you could possibly latch onto the PhotoSmash object that gets created and directly call the shortcode function, which will return a fully formed gallery:
echo $bwbPS->shortCodeGallery($atts);
the $atts is an array that you can fill up with different attributes of the gallery. See the function in bwbps-photosmash.php for the attributes.
To get a certain gallery, you might be able to:
$mygalleryatts = array(‘id’ => 8);
echo $bwbPS->shortCodeGallery($mygalleryatts );
You might need to global $bwbPS from whereever you’re trying to call it…I’m not sure.
Also, I’m not sure if this will really work, but it should
Haven’t tried it.
Let us know how it goes if you try it!
Cheers,
Byron

Hi Bram,
That’s a new one. I’m not aware of anything in PhotoSmash that would be throwing out an ». It might be that either a plugin or the theme is doing something to images. I can’t think of anything in CSS that might cause this, but I couldn’t rule it out completely.
I’d suggest trying the default WP theme real quick to see if it’s theme related. If not, then try disabling plugins and see if it’s one of them.
I can’t 100% say for sure it’s not in PhotoSmash, but I can’t think of anything that might be doing that.

I’d like to say at first, awesome plugin, does exactly what i wanted it to. being able to set permissions on different galleries is a great idea.
I was wondering if you have an idea on how to make it so that users can right click and save the image. I know this is probably more of a lightbox question, but is there another plugin that works like lightbox but allows for right clicking and saving?

is there an option for that in the plugin or have to put it in manually? is there also somethin else that i can run the gallery through besides lightbox?

Hey, Jeff,
No option in PS at this time, but good news! I tried the right click in the PhotoSmash demo, and it works! The demo here uses Shadowbox…just like Lightbox, basically, and you won’t have to change in PS settings…just switch the plugins.

Thanks for the great plugin! But I am having problems getting it to work. The upload doesn’t work. It displays the loader bar and refreshes the page, but no images appear in admin or post. On the plugin info page, it’s allright – everything is green except permissions 0777, but I am aware of that.
It doesn’t even add from URL or Youtube links. It’s without moderation and no need to login for posting.
I don’t know where else to look. Any ideas? http://www.sahtel.ee/?p=2095 password is 1234
Thanks!

I’m not really sure. It sounds like we may have the settings crossed up. If you’d like, send me an email at byron at whypad . com
I hope we can get you going.

Thanks Byron. Another question: You still haven’t received your password from the WP subscription?

Hi… there I am trying to figure out what is wrong with my installation and customization… I was able to do it without problems in one site but in the other I am encountering problems… even though I am using the same settings… I am using this configuration:
PAGE:
I have the check mark on:
This setting allows you to use a shortcode to place the upload form in posts/pages. The Add Photos link will not display automatically…anywhere.
Default moderation status: Active
Default Minimum role to upload photos:
Authors/Contributors
Etc, etc… the gallery shows but no Login link message.
This is what I have in that field:
Msg – No Authorization for Uploading: You must be a registered user to upload pix [login]
What am I doing wrong? Please help! This is the page:
http://www.subwayrista.com/subway-pictures
and, this is the other site where it is working fine:
http://www.cuentamelanovela.com/fotos

Hi Miguel,
The message: Msg – No Authorization for Uploading probably means that the Upload form can’t figure out which gallery it needs to upload to. Add id=## into the form shortcode (where ## is the gallery id). Let me know if that doesn’t do the trick.
Cheers,
Byron

Hi. Thanks Byron. It already has this configuration in my page:
You mean to put id=1 in the form line as well? like this? [photosmash form id=1]?
I tried that and nothing
Monday, 3 August, 2009 at 18:13
Oh, by the way… if I re arrange the lines, for example:
I get the login text line but no gallery.
If i leave it like this:
nothing shows, not even the gallery…..
If i leave it like this:
the same, nothing..
If I put it like this:
[photosmash id=1][photosmash form]
It shows just a plain text “Login,” no link… I was able to do the same config with the other site… this is not rite…

Miguel,
Try this for where you want the form:
And this for where you want the gallery:
I’ll take a look at the sites and see if I can see anything.

One thing I noticed on Subway site was that there is a JavaScript error with the Google ads. If this is a big enough error in the right spot, it could be breaking the script.
I couldn’t get registered to look any further. Never sent an email.

Thanks. tried the above and nothing… also, i am using the same template as the other site that works well… i can only think is that something went wrong during installation or it could be a database/sql problem…

I just realized that the script on the other site that was working OK, it now stopped working as well… now its not taking new photo uploads… i’m going to disable the plugin. thanks for everything… its a very promising code.

Miguel,
Sorry to hear that it’s not working. Let me know if you want to try it again. I’ll be happy to dive in and see what’s going on.

“Rel” parameter for image links: what other options are available for this parameter besides lightbox[album]
Great plugin. Works just as advertised!
Sunday, 2 August, 2009 at 22:31
Hi Mike,
Thanks!
The Rel actually goes into the HREF tag on the link for the images. The lightbox[album] gets translated to lightbox[album##] where ## is the gallery id. This rel works for Lightbox, Shadowbox, and maybe others.
You can put anything you need to in there. If you need multiple Rel’s, you can separate with a space. lightbox[album] is the default just because it’s so popular.
