PhotoSmash Mobile Site Listing

Welcome, PhotoSmash users!
Here, you can apply to have your site included in the PhotoSmash Mobile Site Listing. As a Smashly.net member (renewed annually), you may apply to have up to 3 sites included. You may apply a total of 6 times during a year. Hopefully it will only take 1 try per site ;-).

Selection Criteria (keep reading...there's a form down there...trust me!)

Sites will be selected based on criteria very similar to that used by the DMOZ.org editors. This includes excluding spam sites, affiliate marketing sites, etc.. Please read their guidelines at the Open Directory Editing Guidelines to understand our criteria.

Here is an abbreviated list...if you're site doesn't fit within these, then it will not be accepted.

  1. If we suspect that your site would cause Apple to reject our iPhone application for the App Store, it will be rejected
  2. If your site would cause our iPhone application to receive a rating of 9+ or worse, it will be rejected
  3. Sites containing adult content or content that encourages excessive consumption of alcohol, tobacco, or illegal substances will be rejected
  4. Sites that do not pass our technical testing will be rejected (i.e. can we view images via the API, can we upload images if that is enabled)
  5. Poorly designed sites may be rejected
  6. Sites with excessive links, pop-ups, or advertisements may be rejected
  7. Sites that appear to steal content from other sites or display copyrighted images without permission may be rejected
  8. Sites that run slowly may be rejected...we want our users to have a good experience
  9. Sites that are primarily marketing devices or advertisements may be rejected
  10. Sites that seem to be deceptive, hateful, misleading, malicious, or generally not useful may be rejected
  11. Sites with any illegal activity will be rejected

What will actually fly?

Well, if Mother Teresa were running a list of websites, she'd be picking the kind of sites we want in our list. Would you let your 4 year old child browse the site? If not, then that's not what we're looking for.

A Note on Religious Sites

The operators of PhotoSmash and Smashly.net hold and value religious beliefs. Unfortunately, that term covers a wildly diverse and frequently controversial set of ideals and ideas. We cannot hope to discriminate justly between the religiously related sites that we would like to have in our list and those we would not. So, we are invoking Separation of Church and Smashly. Religious sites will generally not be accepted. That doesn't mean that all sites with religious content will be rejected, but primarily religious sites will not be accepted in most cases.

We encourage churches and religious organizations to create their own lists. We may publish links to those lists somewhere on Smashly.net if there develops interest in such links. We may allow religious sites at some point in the future, particularly if we implement Categories in the Site Selection portion of the APP.

PhotoSmash Mobile Application
  • What name do you want your site to be known by? Could just be your URL, like "Smashly.net".
  • Just a tweet's worth (140 characters)
  • Your API URL is your websites Admin Ajax url. You can get this from your PhotoSmash Settings page and the API tab.
  • Select the category that best describes your site. The ultimate category will be assigned by the admin.
  • You can add a 57x57 .JPG or .PNG that will be used as your sites icon in the Site List in the mobile apps.
  • This email address will be used to notify you of your site's status.
  • (Optional) Use this field to include a message to us.
    Terms of Service: By checking this box, you agree that Smashly.net has sole discretion over which sites will be accepted for inclusion in the PhotoSmash Mobile site list. You agree that your site is "family-friendly" (a subjective term whose ultimate meaning in this context will be determined by Smashly.net and their operators) and is intended to remain so. The PhotoSmash Mobile Sites Listing is a list of sites that may be provided to users of the PhotoSmash mobile applications (iPhone, etc). No vulgar, adult content, spam, defaming, derogatory, offensive or otherwise non-family-friendly sites will be accepted for inclusion. The operators of Smashly value religious beliefs, but do not want to be responsible for discriminating between Religious sites and therefore Religious sites will generally not be accepted at this time. Listings of religious sites may be provided in the future. Other sites may be rejected for any reason without explanation. Accepted sites will be reviewed periodically to insure that they continue to meet acceptable content guidelines. Sites may be removed at any time for any reason. You agree to use the PhotoSmash plugin, iPhone app, this website, and any information you receive here at your own risk. You agree that Smashly.net shall not be held liability.
