  1. I just wanted to let you know that your latest upgrade doesn't upgrade properly. It simply wants to take you to http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/photosmash-galleries.0.5.08.zip but it appears that you have created a "sub folder" that is not allowing the plug-in to automatically upgrade. I just wanted to make you aware.

  2. Hi Jon,

Thanks for the heads-up. It appears that the SVN .project file got included in the download. I have been able to update 3 different sites to this version, using the Upgrade Automatically in the Plugins page of Admin, so hopefully that means that this hasn't affected too many users...over 300 people have downloaded the update, so that would be a nightmare if it has :(

I'll try to get that fixed ASAP! Thanks again!

  3. Uggg...I can't figure out the problem! That .project file is in all the older versions too. Can you tell me what folder you're seeing?
    Thanks,

  4. If I go directly to the download link http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/photosmash-galleries.0.5.08.zip unzip the file, go to the next folder down in the hierarchy and re-zip that (sub) folder, I am then able to upload the plugin to a test site without issue. It acts like a normal first time install.

I don't want to do this as a solution for my site however because I am afraid of loosing the images and information already uploaded.

    hope this helps.

  5. I completely understand that that is a pain, but I can't figure out what is causing the problem.

Is it breaking when you upgrade the plugin straight from inside of your Plugins list in your Admin? Are you running a Windows server?

Unfortunately, I don't see any extra folders when I unzip it, and can't reproduce the problem.

As to losing PhotoSmash data, uninstalling and deleting the plugin does not delete any of your images or the information in your database. When you reinstall, it will all be there (unless something other than PhotoSmash did something nasty). It will not change any of your settings or database entries.

In fact, it is proper plugin etiquette to provide a clean-up routine that would remove the database tables and remove the entries in wp_options if a person wants to completely remove all traces of a plugin, but I haven't gotten around to that. I certainly need to.
