  1. any hints - everything works ok except can't seem to get the overlay of the ratings to work.

  2. Hi Aj,

Can we take a look at the page? Assuming you've got them turned on for your gallery (Gallery Settings page, setting at bottom of first tab), my guess is that there is a Javascript error on your page. That seems to be a frequent issue.

If you use FireFox, you can use the Firebug plugin to see if there are javascript errors.

  3. Hi Byron,

I just installed your awesome plugin and managed to do some changes to the look. But one thing I can't get is the ratings to show up. I set the 5 star ratings to show in the gallery settings, but when I put my mouse over where it should be, the stars are not there. The mouse over does read 4/5 stars, etc. though.

How do I fix it to show the images of stars?

    Thank you!
    Kristen

  4. Hmm...Hi again Byron,

I tried loading my website using Firefox, and I can see the ratings. It's just in Safari that I can't.

Do you know how that could be fixed for users who use Safari?

    Thank you!
    Kristen

  5. Hey Kristen,

    Glad you like it!

Can you provide a link that shows what's going on? I'll take a look.

    Cheers,
    Byron

  6. I have the settings on the Gallery Set and have it ticked so Anonymous people can rate, but I get nothing on the page for ratings.

  7. Hi Ed,

Looks like your theme might be missing wp_footer(); in your theme's footer.php file.

  13. Hi MMA,

    Glad you like PhotoSmash!
Try turning off WP E-Commerce (if you have that running). It looks like some other plugin is co-opting the Ajax call and having its way with it.

    Byron

  14. Hi Byron

I think it is a java script error maybe?

  15. Hi Nigel,

Yes, it appears your theme is loading jQuery improperly...a fairly common issue. It's problem #1 on this post (which gives some details on how to correct):

    http://smashly.net/community/topic/cant-upload-images-add-photo-link-doesnt-work

If you view source on your page, it's this line that's causing problems:

    <!-- jQuery - the core -->
    	<script src="http://www.rasspl.com/wp-content/themes/Zenko Magazine v1.2/js/jquery-1.3.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

    Cheers,
    Byron

  16. Do I need to remove that from my theme files? Sorry but have not worked with scripts before. I am an intermediate wordpress user.

Not sure what all those script codes mean.

  17. Any way to modify it to work using the same wordpress application?

  18. Hi

I installed the wordpress plugin version and that is working great, no conflict between the plugins.

  19. Hi MMA,

Sorry, but I haven't tried to tackle that one (if indeed it is WP E-com that is wreaking havoc). It would seem to be a fairly major effort on either plugins part to play nice. I'm not even sure if I could fix it on the PhotoSmash end because it seems like WP Ecom is changing the ajax behavior sort of willy nilly.

  20. Hi Nigel,

It seemed to be theme related from what I saw...are you in good shape at this point?

  21. Hey byron: I'm having the same issues. Ratings are not showing up at all. I get a greyish, semi-transparent box in the corner of each image (with overlays) or no text below the images (if I choose overlays). Any ideas what could be going on with this? Also, how can I set the link for each image to go to an actual post page? I'm sorry if these are out of the scope of this, I just haven't had much time to play with PhotoSmash and want to make sure that it can do what I need it to do. Thanks!

  22. Hi DP,

It could be a Javascript issue. Ratings rely pretty heavily on JS. Can you post a link?

    Thanks,
    BB

  23. Can I send you a link via email? It's for a client of mine and I'd rather not post the URL publicly until we're completed...

  24. Sure, you can send through the Contact page (now using the Gravity Forms for that ;-) )

  25. Sent. Let me know if you need more info. I appreciate the help.

  26. Welcome.
