I will have dozens of pics in each gallery, so manually selecting them from the media library is not very feasible. I hope you can find a way to do this. I think it would be a major benefit to all users.

Sorry, but multiple upload directly to galleries has not been added. There are some difficulties around this.
I would have said NextGen would be your best bet, but as you mentioned in the comments section, it sounds like that’s not quite what you're looking for.
The Media Gallery option isn’t too bad, given that you can do a mass upload and the Import Photos page has ability to choose photos that are not in the gallery..and a select all button.

hi erjati - not sure if this helps you, and i realize this is an old post so perhaps it will help someone else. now that byron has added the awesome ability to upload to photosmash as you upload into the media library, i just use the faster image upload plugin to upload multiple photos at once and they all end up directly in the gallery.
