I am trying to make sure that thumbnails have alt tags which at the moment they don't and I can't see for the life of me how to make sure that they are there.

Sorry, but you can't do alt tags at the moment in the standard gallery at the moment. I'll put it on the to-do list, though.

I also think that alt tagging images is very important. If nothing else, a checkbox to have the caption become the alt tag would work. It might be cool to have a custom field for "alt tage / description" - or maybe a way to add one word tags or something maybe.
I am looking at a couple of plugins that say they add tags to media - but I am not sure if they would cause a conflict with this plugin, or if they would even work with this plugin and the way it displays galleries.

This shouldn't be too hard to get into the code, and it seems to be popular. Will see what I can do.
