Installed and ready, galleries created and the result is: all pages (not just the assigned posts) are showing a large black box, with a Add Photo link that when clicked goes to a non existing page and error message. I need to get this off of every page on the site. What is causing that and how do I fix it? Why will add post links not work, but go to 404 not found errors?

hi there! so in doing some random testing, i found that my google analytics outbound link tracking isn't working on links inside the photosmash custom fields. not sure why, but i was wondering if there was a way to add the javascript to the links? basically what would need to happen is that any time a link appeared in the custom field, it added a onclick javascript event that we can specify.

let me know if that was confusing! thanks!

Hi. I really like what I've seen in Photosmash so far, but I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to allow users to create galleries on their own instead of just allowing them to upload images to an already-existing gallery. I watched the tutorials and read through the forums, but I didn't see anything about this...anyone know if it's possible? Thanks in advance!

Jimbob on "Transposh notranslate image url"

I use transposh translator on my blog. I was wondering where I would put the 'notranslate' tag so that image urls that photosmash uses are not pointing to the wrong url. For example I have a gallery set up in a post, lets say it's url is http://www.examplesite.com/category/post1.html
If I go to that page and use the gallery it works fine. Now if I press say translate to chinese on the transposh widget, the url will then look like this - http://www.examplesite.com/cn/category/post1.html
The problem now is when I try to use the gallery on that translated page, the thumbnails work properly and show up but when I press on them it tries to find the full size picture in the wrong path eg http://www.examplesite.com/cn/images/image1.jpg instead of http://www.examplesite.com/images/image1.jpg
So my question is where do I put class="no_translate" to stop this from happening?

Hi , great plugin, got it working just as I want. Main issue I am having, due to lack of basic knowledge, is how to include the gallery in an accordion.

On the site http://traditionalpainter.com/andy-crichton I have created a multi author profilepage.php and can display the gallery using
<?php echo do_shortcode("[photosmash]"); ?>
but I want it to be hidden until toggled on by clicking on the My Photos image.

I just dont have the first idea how to do this with a jquery accordion that works for this template page only. Can you please point me in the right direction?

Hi!

I can see there is a lot of topics concerning image uploading and rating issues. But I haven't found a solution there, I think this has nothing to do with jQuery loading...well, I'll let you deside that :)

When logged in as an admin, I am able to upload images via add photo link. The image goes to server in uploads folder just like it should, but it wont appear in gallery or the backend of plugin. Only the photos I add via photo manager are visible in gallery. BUT, if not logged in, nothing happens when pressing submit button. Nothing happens in server and upload folder either. I have set that anyone can upload photos and there is no moderation on.

When rating photos as an admin, I can set the stars. But when refreshing the page, all ratings are gone. If not logged in, the rating sais "not logged in". I have the "allow anonymous rating" tab selected. When using custom form, I receive an error "image upload failed..." when rating as an admin. This error goes inside the thickbox (the popup for upload form, I guess it was thickbox :)

I have checked the jQuery, it is loading only once with the correct wp_enqueue_script function. I have tried the gallery in default theme. I have deactivated all other plugins too. I have a custom form and layout, but I tried default ones too.

I have read these forums for several hours and checked every little tip you have told, but still no solution. The site is in our test server which is not visible to internet, could this be some kind of server problem?

EDIT: Anyone should be able to upload and rate photos.

EDIT2: I checked the database, every uploaded image is in bwbps_images table. Also ratings are in database. (made by admin logged in of course). I have edited the wordpress path, folder wp-content --> xfiles. But this shouldn't affect on anything, right?

Cheers,
Ville

Maybe 3 or 4 photos per page, single column, each as a separate
entity if you get my drift.

There would not necessarily be a "gallery" display with multiple

Not sure what I'm doing when I upload portrait oriented photos, but some get rotated to landscape oriented but some don't. I think I've narrowed it down to the actual image pixel size.

version: 0.8.00

gallery image settings:

mini: 125x125 crop to exact
thumbnail: 125x125 crop to exact
medium: 320x160 crop to exact
large: 640x480 not cropped

i've tried every variant of cropped and not cropped. if the portrait image as a width of 640 or less; it doesn't rotate the image. if the portrait has a width larger then 640 it rotates and makes it 640x480.

files i'm loading, pixel size are:

landscape: 3456 × 2592

- creates a 125 x 125 thumbnail and a lightbox image of 640x480. just what i want what one would expect

portrait: 2592 × 3456

- creates a 125 x 125 thumbnail ROTATED and a lightbox image of 640x480 rotated. NOT what i want.

i assume it is the settings of all the gallery image settings and not sure how to fix.

Love this plugin. I'm getting close to getting this working on a test site (http://wp.sitebrew.net/?page_id=1422) . However, I am running into the following problem.

1. I click on "Add Photo" and get the form to upload a photo.
2. I select the photo and click "Submit".
3. The loading image appears.
4. Then the form closes without adding the photo.

Any ideas what is going on here? I have integrated Galleriffic into my project courtesy of elizabethanne but I can't tell that any of that code is causing the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I've got Photosmash installed on a client's Wordpress-powered site where they want visitors to upload photos into galleries, although I'm running into problems setting it up and would appreciate some help/advice.

So far I've created a gallery for visitors to upload into, set the moderation level, set the thickbox stuff so the image appear nicely and added the shortcode onto a specific page where the gallery should be show - no problem.

However, the client wants and overall gallery page where several galleries can be seen each containing photos of different events, all of which are open to uploading. So on the main 'PhotoSmash Settings' tab I set one page as a 'Gallery Viewer Page' and all the other gallery types to 'Photo Gallery' and they then appear on the main gallery page. All seems well.

However, the thickbox effect has gone, and a little "Post" icon has appeared in the corner of every thumbnail. Why is this? I'd have thought that a 'Gallery Veiwer Page' would just be a portal into all the normal photo galleries. Why do I have to change all the galleries to 'Photo Gallery' - why can't they stay as 'Contributor Galleries'?

 Thanks

Hi,
I have one user telling me that she is unable to upload images to my gallery but i have been able to and other users have been able to .. so i am wondering whether she might be uploading an image which is too large or too big in file dimensions.

She says she follows the process and then nothing happens.
So just wondering is there an error message or does the user get a message if they just to upload outside the specifications ?

Or whether anyone has any other suggestions on what this might be ?

Thanks

hi there, i was using nextgen before and i found it nearly impossible to figure out. this plugin looks a lot more user friendly and glad to see there is good documentation and support.

ok i'm looking to achieve what i wrote in this thread:
http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?t=687502

and was further directed to a portion in the codex.

Download the latest development version here: http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/photosmash-galleries.zip

If you have the ability to try out this next release of PhotoSmash in a test system, it would be a great help to the community here!

This is an important release for users with a Large set of images and users who use the Attachment Page Link features.

--- The way Paging is done has been completely revamped...MAJOR CHANGE! A number of optimizations have been undertaken to use less memory and query the database less, though they will be more apparent to users with > 500 images in a Gallery. The Demo Gallery on this site uses 5Mb LESS RAM than before as a result of the Paging optimization, primarily because the SQL query that selects images returns 25 images now while it was returning 894 images before.

Lots of changes in this release...some of them kind of major as I start preparing the code for a reorganization/rewrite. As I mentioned in a recent blog post, I want to focus on making PhotoSmash pretty on the inside as well as the outside ;-) and that means some reworking of the code.

Please test if you can. There are a few nice new features that you can read about in the Changelog ( http://smashly.net/photosmash-galleries/change-log/ ).

Please let me know in the Development forum: http://smashly.net/community/forum/photosmash-development

Great plugin! I have created a custom layout here: http://wp.sitebrew.net/?page_id=1422

Any idea how I would modify my layout to put thumbnails of the other photos in the gallery lined up below the one image?

Thanks!
